IPTV Multiroom Setup: Stream on Multiple TVs

5 June 2026 7 min read

Watching IPTV on a single television is just the beginning. Most households have two or more TVs, and setting up IPTV across all of them means everyone in the family can watch what they want, when they want, without arguments over the remote. This guide explains everything you need to know about running IPTV on multiple screens simultaneously.

Understanding Multiroom IPTV Connections

A standard IPTV subscription supports one active connection at a time, meaning you can watch on one device. If you try to open your subscription on a second device while the first is still streaming, the first device will typically be disconnected. Multiroom subscriptions solve this by allowing two simultaneous connections, while Triple Room plans support three devices streaming different channels at the same time.

The key advantage of IPTV multiroom over cable multiroom is cost. Sky Multiscreen, for example, charges an additional 14 pounds per month for each extra TV. With IPTV, a multiroom upgrade adds approximately 50 percent to your subscription cost, and you are not limited to one extra screen, you get genuine simultaneous streaming on separate devices with independent channel control.

Choosing Devices for Each Room

You do not need the same device in every room. Choose the right device based on the TV and your budget. For your main living room TV, an Amazon Firestick 4K Max or a dedicated Android TV box provides the best experience with fast channel switching and smooth 4K playback. For bedroom TVs, a standard Firestick or Firestick Lite is perfectly adequate and costs significantly less. For a kitchen TV, a Chromecast with Google TV or an older Firestick works well.

If your TVs are Samsung or LG Smart TVs, you can install IPTV apps directly on the TV without any additional hardware, which saves the cost of a separate streaming device. Each TV simply needs the IPTV app installed and configured with your subscription credentials.

Setting Up Your Multiroom Network

For reliable multiroom IPTV, your home network needs to be capable of handling multiple simultaneous streams. Each Full HD stream requires approximately 8 to 15 Mbps of bandwidth, so three simultaneous streams need around 30 to 45 Mbps of available bandwidth after accounting for other devices on your network.

If your router is positioned in one area of the house and you have TVs in distant rooms, consider investing in a mesh Wi-Fi system. Products from brands like TP-Link Deco, Google Nest Wi-Fi, and Amazon Eero create a blanket of strong Wi-Fi coverage throughout your home, eliminating weak signal areas that cause buffering. Alternatively, powerline Ethernet adapters use your home's electrical wiring to extend a wired connection to rooms far from the router.

Configuring the Same IPTV App Across Devices

Install the same IPTV player app on all your devices for consistency. If you use IPTV Smarters Pro on your living room Firestick, install it on your bedroom Firestick and your kitchen Smart TV as well. Use the same login credentials on each device. The multiroom subscription allows these devices to stream simultaneously without disconnecting each other.

Each device maintains its own favourite channel lists and settings, so family members can customise their own viewing experience. Parents can set up their preferred channels on the living room device, children can have their favourite cartoon channels saved on their bedroom device, and so on.
